TMR: Dutch Intellectuals Apologize to Putin for MH17 Lies, TX School District Militarizes Campus Cops, and Russia Bombers Practice Missile Strikes Near Canada
Your Tuesday Morning Roar! Dutch Intellectuals Apologize to Putin for Western Governments' MH17 Lies A group of Dutch "intellectuals" (professors and the like) have written a letter of apology to Vladimir Putin, expressing their displeasure over the "guilty before proven innocent" approach that many western nations took in the aftermath of the MH17 tragedy. This is the meat of the full letter, which can be read in its entirety here.
We are powerless onlookers, as we witness how the Western Nations, led by the United States, accuse Russia of crimes they commit themselves more than anybody else. We reject the double standards that are used for Russia and the West. In our societies, sufficient evidence is required for a conviction. The way you and your Nation are convicted for 'crimes' without evidence, is ruthless and despicable. You have saved us from a conflict in Syria that could have escalated into a World War. The mass killing of innocent Syrian civilians through gassing by ‘Al-‐Qaeda’ terrorists, trained and armed by the US and paid for by Saudi Arabia, was blamed on Assad. In doing so, the West hoped public opinion would turn against Assad, paving the way for an attack on Syria. Not long after this, Western forces have built up, trained and armed an ‘opposition’ in the Ukraine, to prepare a coup against the legitimate Government in Kiev. The putschists taking over were quickly recognized by Western Governments. They were provided with loans from our tax money to prop their new Government up.Russia is wrongly accused, without evidence or investigation, of delivering the weapons systems that allegedly brought down MH17. For this reason Western Governments claim they have a right to economically pressure Russia. We, awake citizens of the West, who see the lies and machinations of our Governments, wish to offer you our apologies for what is done in our name. It’s unfortunately true, that our media have lost all independence and are just mouthpieces for the Powers that Be. Because of this, Western people tend to have a warped view of reality and are unable to hold their politicians to account.
We could do with more groups standing up and calling out the powers that be for overtly propagandizing every international incident before even the most remedial facts are on the table.Texas School District Militarizes Cops Using Free U.S. Military Equipment As the militarization of police force the nation over draws the shock and outrage of a populous, some Texas school districts have been going full bore to militarize its campus cops. Where are they getting the funds for this weapons bonanza, you may ask? No funds needed, says the U.S. military, who is supplying the district at no cost or at costs so severely discounted as to make them virtually free. From Raw Story:
Taking advantage of U.S. Defense Department offers of free or low-cost military hardware, Texas school districts have been helping themselves to high-powered weaponry, bullet-proof vests, and armored vehicles to militarize their campus police officers.A KHOU investigation shows that ten school districts in Texas have been acquiring the military surplus under a government program that allows them to load up at little to no cost.According to the investigation, the districts have acquired 64 M-16 rifles, 18 M-14 rifles, 25 automatic pistols, extended magazines, and 4,500 rounds of ammunition. Additionally, the schools stocked up on armored plating, tactical vests, as well as 15 surplus military vehicles.
It is utterly insane that these districts see any justification for the purchase of these powerful weapons, let alone in such ridiculous numbers. One possible reason put forth is the overreaction that always happens following any sort of school-related incident, such as Sandy Hook. But, as a Texas school watchdog points out, even were these weapons intended for use in that type of one-in-a-million event, they still would be virtually worthless.
According to Spring Hills school district Police Chief Charles Brawner, the rifles are only available to tactically-trained officers in an emergency and, when not in use for training, they are locked up in the department’s armory.Pointing out that studies show that most shooting scenarios last approximately 12 minutes, Griffin said, “It’s hard to see how an officer would be able to gain access to the armory, bring it to the school, assess the situation and somehow use that weapon in the time that a school shooting usually occurs.”
Everything really is bigger in Texas, and reactionary purchasing of military grade weaponry seems to be no exception.Russia Practices Cruise Missile Strikes on US Near Canadian BorderIn what may be seen as a response to recent NATO maneuvers in the Black Sea, or just part of "standard operating procedure", Russian bombers have recently been reported to be conducting practice runs of cruise missile strikes on the United States near the Canadian border. The Washington Free Beacon reports:
Two Russian strategic bombers conducted practice cruise missile attacks on the United States during a training mission last week that defense officials say appeared timed to the NATO summit in Wales. The Russian Tu-95 Bear bombers were tracked flying a route across the northern Atlantic near Iceland, Greenland, and Canada’s northeast.Analysis of the flight indicated the aircraft were conducting practice runs to a pre-determined “launch box”—an optimum point for firing nuclear-armed cruise missiles at U.S. targets, said defense officials familiar with intelligence reports.
It would be foolish to think the United States doesn't conduct similar tests, all over the world, to prepare for various possible scenarios. This may very well be a routine procedure for the Russian military as well, but another snippet from the article does give some pause...
Disclosure of the nuclear bombing practice comes as a Russian general last week called for Moscow to change its doctrine to include preemptive nuclear strikes on the United States and NATO.Gen. Yuri Yakubov, a senior Defense Ministry official, was quoted by the state-run Interfax news agency as saying that Russia’s 2010 military doctrine should be revised to identify the United States and the NATO alliance as enemies, and clearly outline the conditions for a preemptive nuclear strike against them.
Preemptive strikes?? Where could they have ever learned such a thing...?Read The Morning Roar every weekday Monday-Friday!The Lions of Liberty are on Twitter, Facebook & Google+Receive access to ALL of our EXCLUSIVE bonus audio content – including “Conspiracy Corner”, “Degenerate Gamblers” and the “League of Liberty Podcast” by joining the Lions of Liberty Pride and supporting us on Patreon!
